This is a 1st shift, split week, seasonally adjusted position. From December 1st to June 1st the hours are 5:00am-1:30pm Wednesday-Sunday. From June 1st to December 1st the hours adjust to Wednesday-Sunday 7:00am-3:30pm.

Description: An experienced athletic maintenance staff member needed to provide Athletics and the public with clean and safe athletic facilities and fields. Tasks and responsibilities include: Artificial and natural turf maintenance, NCAA level field painting, portable floor installation, hardwood floor maintenance, game setups, clean up after games, ice making, Zamboni operation, ice rink maintenance, maintenance of irrigation equipment, basic landscaping, sod installation, function setups and snow removal at all athletic facilities and adjacent properties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in facilities maintenance & golf/athletic field maintenance.
Massachusetts Hoisting Operators license (within 6 months of hire) and demonstrated ability to operate forklift and various snow removal equipment.
Valid drivers license.
Working knowledge of: Spreader and sprayer operation and calibration, maintenance and operation of reel type mowers, operation of turf type tractors, field marking and painting, and irrigation systems/maintenance.
Experience in NCAA basketball game operations including installing the portable floor, hardwood floor maintenance, game set ups and clean up.
Experience in NCAA football game operations including turf maintenance, field painting, game set ups and clean up.
Experience in NCAA field sports (softball, baseball, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse). Includes grass field maintenance, game set ups and clean up.
Additionally, the following skills and experiences are strongly preferred. The successful candidate will possess an appropriate blend of the following qualifications:
10 years working experience in ice rink maintenance and operations. Includes experience in ice making, ice painting, edging, ice leveling, and dasher board maintenance.
10 years working experience operating an ice resurfacing machine. This includes experience operating a machine in game situations with two ice resurfacing machines operating simultaneously and working knowledge of daily maintenance of the machine, safety training and able to operate the air quality equipment. Certification from ISI and/or STAR is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of operating ice refrigeration equipment including maintenance, and safety procedures.
2 or 4 year degree in Turf Management.
A current Massachusetts Pesticide Application License.
