Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
The Coordinator of Diversity Education will report to the Chief Diversity Officer. The Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion seeks a professional to join our staff who is motivated in engaging the challenge of changing hearts and minds through the work of creating an innovative, inclusive and diverse campus climate. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and implementation of workshops related to diversity education, and will provide leadership and development opportunities for the campus community, serve as a liaison to campus departments addressing cultural competency, civility training, staff development, team building and individual coaching. They will coordinate the development and delivery of integrated and relevant solutions to help infuse inclusive excellence concepts, policies, systems, and processes into the organizational culture of the university. The coordinator of diversity education coordinates workshops for university new hires around unconscious bias, inclusive practices, cultural competency and education for LGBTQ communities, safe zone, the differently abled and other marginalized populations. Responsibilities include developing proposals, programs and curriculum to meet identified development opportunities ,to meet organizational needs; identifying diverse recruitment resources for search committees and assist in the recruitment of diverse professionals. Must be flexible with scheduling programs and workshops for various campus constituencies.

Qualifications & Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in social justice, human rights, human development or related field, excellent communication skills, demonstrate related work experience in offering adult education; experience in the design, delivery and assessment of initiatives and programs; demonstrated experience with coaching individuals; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience in planning and managing programs and events for diverse audiences and an understanding and commitment to inclusive excellence, ongoing professional development. Experience and familiarity with presenting before large groups is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong comfort level in learning multiple database systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified consultant, facilitator or cultural competency trainer. Experience in instructional design methodologies and course and curriculum design in all modalities (face-to-face, hybrid and online), including learning outcome development and curriculum alignment. Familiarity with a broad range of process tools and structured activities that focus on areas such as: visioning, creative problem solving tools, gap analysis, multi-voting, priority setting, decision making, monitoring and feedback. Familiarity with a broad range of standardized assessments, such as: Myers-Briggs Type indicators, change management, problem solving preferences, leadership style, and team development experiences with conflict resolution is a plus.
