Departmental Information Supervisor (6910)
The Departmental Information Supervisor provides managerial/administrative and supervisory support to two (2) Program Directors for three (3) federally funded Upward Bound Programs to include Upward Bound/Math & Science; Upward Bound (EC)- East St. Louis Unit School District 189, and Cahokia Unit School District 187; and Upward Bound (BEM)- Brooklyn Unit School District 188, East St. Louis Charter High School and Madison Community Unit School District 12.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
-Prepare/review all personnel contracts, requisitions, vouchers and related fiscal materials for accuracy and compliance with University, Federal and State policies and procedures
-Interview, hire, train, supervise and direct work of all graduate assistants, along with assisting with staff recruitment, orientation, and retention/termination activities
-Assist with budget matters/projection reports for Upward Bound programs, all totaling a combined $1M+ in funding;
-Coordinate completion and submittal of salary time records and vacation/sick leave reports and data entry into BANNER for all Upward Bound staff;
-Serve as the department contact person for communications with various University units (i.e., Purchasing, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Transportation Services, Human Resources etc.)?
-Serve as contact with the Office of Education as requested;
-Handle office correspondence, department files, travel and appointment requests, supply orders, and inventory management for all Upward Bound programs;
-Ensure staff follow standard operation procedures in the absence of the director.

Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the department’s mission and goals.

This position is a current civil service vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s East St. Louis campus and will close to applicants at close of business, 4:30 pm CST, on the posting end date.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Five years of administrative and/or supervisory office experience that included supervision, organization, and coordination of work programs and responsibility for the performance of those supervised.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field;
-Excellent planning and organizational skills;
-Ability to exercise good judgment and decision making;
-Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
